August 9th, 2007, more than 30 interns of Bell Labs Research China (BLRC) gathered in the conference room to have a meeting named ¡°Bell Labs Day for Intern¡±.
Dr. Dawei Huang, Director of BLRC, awarded 7 interns who have been elected as ¡°Excellent Intern¡± in the past few months with certificates and books at the beginning of the meeting, which was an encouragement and praise for interns who made good contribution to BLRC. Later, Dr. Huang delivered a speech on ¡°Bell Labs and Independent Innovation¡± to all interns. He presented the history and current development of Bell Labs, and at the same time, he explained vividly with various examples about what was and how to initiate independent innovation. After his speech, all interns discussed with each other and provided their suggestion about how to make improvement of their work in BLRC.
It was a meeting with harmonious atmosphere that helped all interns to know each other better. It was also a meeting that would lay a good foundation to the future development of BLRC internship program.
